The Environmental Protection Department ("EPD") respects personal data privacy and is committed to fully implementing and complying with the data protection principles and all relevant provisions under the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance.

 

"D.Easy" Website

The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (including its servants and agents) ("the Government") will record visits to "D.Easy" website without collecting any personal data of users. Such general information is only collected for the compilation of statistical reports and the diagnosis of problems with concerning computer systems, and carrying out of analysis and research to help improving the "D.Easy" website and providing new services.

Cookies will be stored in computer's or mobile device's hard drive during browsing the "D.Easy" website. Cookies are used to enhance users' web browsing experience. If the user does not accept cookies, certain functionality may not be available.

 

The "D.Easy" App

The Government makes no warranty, statement or representation, express or implied, with respect to the accuracy, availability, completeness or usefulness of the application and information, contained herein, and in so far as permitted by law, shall not have any legal liability or responsibility (including liability for negligence) for any loss, damage, or injury (including death) which may result, whether directly or indirectly, from the supply or use of such application and information.

The “D·Easy” makes use of the “Push Notification Service” provided by user’s smartphone manufacturer for receiving updates of the app. EPD does not guarantee the successful or timely reception of updates.

The Government will record visits to the "D·Easy" without collecting any personal identifiable information from users. Such general statistics are collected to compile statistical reports and diagnose problems with, or concerning, computer systems to help improve the app.

Unless permitted or required by law, the Government will not disclose your personal data to any third parties without your prior consent. All personal data you provide to the Government via the app are secure, and access to them is restricted to authorized personnel only.
